June 15th is coming, and with it the moment we’ve been waiting for: meeting the 4 finalists of PIPA 2012.
The 4 finalists are chosen by the PIPA Board, from the participating artists, based on the number of nominations received by the Nominating Committee.
Nominated X participant artists
There were 101 artists nominated in 2010, 85 in 2011 and 116 this year.
All nominees are invited to participate. To do so, they have to sign a Term of Commitment in which they commit to fulfill the deadlines and other requirements of the Prize (such as sending the material to illustrate the pages at the site and in the catalog of the Prize).
The artists that submit the Term signed before the deadline are considered participants. This year we have 102 artists participating, in 2011 there were 73 and in 2010 we had 89.

Amazing to see 5 working/living outside Brazil. It used to be so provincial. Great news! On the other hand, the inevitable attraction of big centers manifests itself yet again. An almost Newtonian phenomenon.
