Mexican contemporary art fair Zona Maco takes place this week

(Mexico City, Mexico)

One of the most important contemporary art fairs in Latin America, Zona Maco starts its 13th edition this Wednesday, February 8th, and goes until Sunday, the 12th. Participate in the fair over 120 international galleries, mostly from Mexico City and New York—the São Paulo-based Galeria Vermelho is the only Brazilian gallery to take part in the fair, showcasing in its space the works of PIPA Prize 2010 and 2011 nominee Marcelo Cidade (whose work “Confortável Conformismo” illustrates this post) amongst others.

Asides from the General Section, area that assembles some of the leading galleries of the world and where Galeria Vermelho is situated, the fair is divided in other three sections: New Proposals, curated by Humberto Moro; ZonaMaco Sur, curated by João Mourão and Luis Silva; and Modern Art, featuring emblematic works produced in the first half of the twentieth century.

Zona Maco 2017 goes until this Sunday, February 12th, and expects at least 50,000 visitors. Will you be one of them? See some of the artworks on view at the fair below.
