Jonathas de Andrade participates in the 10th DRAF Curators’ Series

(London, UK)

Supporting independent curators by commissioning special research-based projects, the DRAF Curators’ Series presents its 10th edition starting this Thursday, May 4th. Titled “Greater than the Sum”, the exhibition was curated by Kunsthalle Lissabon, a small contemporary art space in Lisbon, marking the second time a space, rather than an individual curator, was invited to take responsibility for the show.

The exhibition revisits some of the close collaborations with artists that have shaped the gallery’s programme, including PIPA Prize 2011 Finalist Jonathas de Andrade. Asides from him, André Guedes, Diogo Evangelista, Mounira Al Solh, Céline Condorelli & Amalia Pica and Laure Prouvost also participate in the show, presenting six installations marked by the ideas of friendship, community and playfulness. Such principles are also at the core of Kunsthalle Lissabon, which names ‘radical hospitality’ (defined as sociability, solidarity and generosity) as its key feature.
