A PIPA Prize nominee in 2012, Estela Sokol is on view at Arte Hall with five new artworks. Developed exclusively for the gallery discuss the effects of light and color in the relationship between body and space. The series mix marble, granite and basalt.
Intrigued by the idea of color as light – and not simply a dyed surface – and light as an eco that informs us of another body and another time, Sokol builds objects that explore the perception of those elements, establishing dialogues with artists such as Helio Oiticica and Dan Flavin, known for their light and color investigations.
