“Survival Kit 9” proposes different ways of interacting with nature

(Riga, Latvia) Established in 2009, “Survival Kit” is the biggest contemporary art event in the Baltics. Each year, a socially relevant and important theme is selected for the festival. This year, “Survival Kit 9”, on view at the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, focuses on the broadening of perception and learning from nature and gathers the work of over 20 artists, including PIPA Prize 2011 Finalist Jonathas de Andrade.

Video Art exhibition investigates the impacts of the 2008 global financial crisis

(Lisbon, Portugal) In the last 10 years, video has become an essencial tool for contemporary artists. “Tension & Conflict: Video Art after 2008”, which opened this Wednesday at Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia (MAAT), focuses precisely on an exceptional selection of artists – including PIPA Prize nominee Marilá Dardot – who have resorted to video as a means of registering the impact of the 2008 global financial crisis.
