PIPA Prize 2018 catalogue now available for download

Launched last month at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (MAM-Rio) in the last day of the PIPA Prize 2018 Finalists Exhibition, the ninith-year catalogue of the Prize is now available to download here on our website. Since last year, the publication presents a series of critical texts about this edition’s finalists, Arjan Martins, avaf, Romy Pocztaruk and Vivian Caccuri. Each of them invited a curator or critic of choice to write about their work and/or artistic trajectory.

The change represents the consolidation of the catalogue as an important research tool when it comes to Brazilian contemporary art. What’s more, PIPA Institute Curator Luiz Camillo Osorio also considers it a great “incentive for the formation of new critics”, in addition to making the catalogue even more dense and relevant.

Besides the critical texts, the catalogue also includes artwork images and information about all of the 56 artists nominated this year, general facts about the Prize’s goal and history, and texts written by Luiz Camillo Osorio, Carlos Alberto Gouvêa Chateaubriand (President of MAM-Rio) and other Board members. There is also photos of the exhibition, statics of the Prize since 2010, pictures of the donated works in 2017 and, of course, the pages dedicated to the work of each participating artist in this edition.

To download the PIPA Prize 2018 catalogue, enter the website’s homepage and scroll down until the bottom of the page. You will reach “Downloads” (seen in red in the image below), which is placed right after “Statics”. Then, all you have to do is to click on the chosen catalogue. The download will begin automatically.
