About the artist

Alice Miceli obtained her B.A. from the École Superieure d’Etudes Cinématographiques, in Paris, France, and her M.A. in Brazil’s Art and Architecture History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Alice also studied with Charles Watson at the Parque Lage Visual Arts School, in Rio de Janeiro.

Scholarship, grants and residency awards include the Brown Foundation Program at the Dora Maar House, in Ménerbes, France; the MacDowell Colony, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and the Bogliasco Foundation Program at the Liguria Study Center, in Genova.

Miceli has had solo exhibitions at Nara Roesler Gallery in Sao Paulo, and at Max Protetch Gallery, in New York. Her work has been exhibited in numerous international venues, including the Sao Paulo Biennial, the Japan Media Arts Festival, in Tokyo, the Tomie Ohtake Institute, in Sao Paulo, the TRANSITIO_MX festival, in Mexico City, the transmedial festival, in Berlin, the Z33 Contemporary Art Space, in Hasselt, and the ZKM, in Karlsruhe among others.

An extended conversation with the artist has been edited in collaboration with the Skull Sessions, in New York.
