About the artist

Fabio Zimbres, also known as FZ, studied Architecture and graduated in Arts, is a graphic designer, organizes exhibitions, paints, makes comics and illustrations. Is part of Animal magazine’s founding team, and worked as its editor until its end, in 1991.

Has comics in many Brazilian and foreign independent pulications, also has books edited in Latin America and Spain.

Is creator and editor of Edições Tonto, where, in the Coleção Mini Tonto, publishes small books by many independent Brazilian illustrators and some Latin American artists. In 2006, published the book Música para Antropomorfos, a graphic novel that goes with it, served as inspiration and was inspired by the CD by the rock band Mechanics.

As far as art exhibitions go, there were solos in spaces such as galeria Adesivo and Museu do Trabalho, in Porto Alegre, Centro Cultural Recoleta, in Buenos Aires, and galeria Design Festa, in Tóquio.

Along with southern artists Eduardo Haesbaert and Gelson Radaelli, Zimbres still is part of the project Casa do Desenho, series of group exhibitions that has been to two cities and is still active.
