About the artist

His work was awarded in the 39th Salão de Artes Plásticas de Pernambuco, in 1999.
He got his BA and MD at the École Nacionale Superieure des Beaux-Arts, orientated by the artist Giusepe Penone

He lived in Paris from 2000 to 2007.

Highlighted among his projects are: artistic residency at the Art French Academy in Rome, the Villa Medici, and his photographs works at the Himalayas, in India, in 2003, well as participation in group exhibitions in France, Netherlands and Italy.He went back to Recife in 2007 and in 2008 he held a solo exhibition at Mariana Moura Gallery and participated at the festival No Ar Coquetel Molotov, with an audiovisual installation.

In 2009, was awarded by the program Rumos Artes Visuais do Instituto Itaú Cultural with the artwork ” Rua do Futuro” and he participated in shows in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Branco e Brasília. In 2009, he held a solo show at the Instituto Cultural Banco Real, in Recife.

In 2010, he held a solo exhibition with the title: “O Brilhante Futuro da cana de açúcar” at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, invited by the curator Antonio Pinto Ribeiro.
In 2010, he was also selected for the World Bank’s project ” Changes” , where he is presenting shows in New York City and Washington by the end of 2010.
