About the artist

Born in Minas Gerais and living in Rio de Janeiro, is graduated in Philosophy at The State University of Rio de Janeiro and studied at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2003, founded with the artists Ernesto Neto and Marcio Botner the gallery A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janeiro.

Participated in several exhibitions, including the 24th and 27th São Paulo Biennale; 2nd and 3rd Mercosul Biennale, Porto Alegre, Brazil; To Age, Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, Wales; A Little Bit of History Repeated, Kunst Werke, Berlin; Troca Brazil PNCA, Portland, Oregon, USA; Brazilian Art Panorama, 2001 and 2007, São Paulo, Brazil; 11 Lyon Biennale, France and many others.

Residence Awarded in Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston, USA.

Artist- Curator of the Pavillion Absurd at 7th Mercosul Biennale Grito e Escuta, Porto Alegre, Brazil.

She was the first Brazilian artist who has works in the Performance category bought in Brazil by the São
Paulo Museum of Modern Art, in 2000.

She was awarded with Marcantônio Vilaça Prize 2006, nominated for PIPA Prize 2010 and 2011, among other awards.
