About the artist

Milton Marques is part of that team of artists, inventors. His artworks draw upon a low tech repertoire. What we see are experiences that are at the same time craft and technicals, with digital videos and technological devices that have already been destroyed.

His repertoire includes optical components, printers, copiers, scanners, cameras and other mechanisms devoid of its original function. Milton Marques thus creates small gadgets capable of restoring a poetry unthinkable for these entities that were already doomed to oblivion.

Degree in Art Education, from Universidade de Brasília.

He took part in the 26° Bienal de São Paulo, 2004.
He participated in the 5a Bienal do Mercosul, Porto Alegre, RS, 2005.
In 2006 he was awarded with the Prêmio Marcantonio Vilaça, Funarte / MinC, Pesquisa.

Represented by: Galeria Leme.
