About the artist

In 1982 he created the group Casa 7.

In 1985 he participated in 18ª Bienal de São Paulo. After 1986 he has held many solo exibitions and and has participated in many group shows in Brazil and abroad.

His artworks are in the main private and public Brazilian collections. In 2004 he was awarded with the Bolsa Vitae of Visual Arts.

In 200 he starts a serie of pictorial interventions in public spaces like, “Lanches Alvorada” in 2001, in a pub downtown São Paulo, and “Paredes da Caixa”in 2006.

In 2007 writes, acts and directs the shortfilm “Uma noite no escritório”.

In 2008 publishes, by Cosac Naify, a book with a collection of his artwork since 1983.

In 2010 he makes the work “Óleo sobre”, an intervention in eight rooms of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo.

He was invited to participate in the 29ª Bienal Internacional de São Paulo, where he will show a serie of new paintings called “Matéria noturna”.
