Carlos Eduardo Bitu Cassundé

Carlos Eduardo Bitu Cassundé is an art critic and curator, graduate in Letters at the Federal University of Ceará and master by the Fine Arts School at the Federal University os Minas Gerais (UFMG).

He was assistant curator and coordinator of research at MAC – Ceará (1998 – 2007). Member of the curatorial team of the “Programa Rumos Artes Visuais” (Visual Arts Directions Program) of Itaú Cultural; and between 2009 and 2011 he directed the Museu Murrilo La Greca in Recife.

His latest curatorial projects are: “Sob o peso dos meus amores” (Itaú Cultural, São Paulo), “Leonilson – Sob o peso dos meus amores (Fundação Iberê Camargo, Porto Alegre), Metrô de Superfície (Paço das Artes, São Paulo), Metrô de Superfície II (Centro Cultural São Paulo), “Rotas: desvios e outros ciclos” MAC Ceará), Leonilson Inflamável (MAC Ceará).

Cassundé was part of various juries across the country, among them the one in charge of awarding, CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça 2011 to 2012. Together with Clarissa Diniz he set up the contemporary collection of Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste, which is linked to the project Metrô de Superfície.
