Carlos Eduardo Bitu Cassundé
Carlos Eduardo Bitu Cassundé is an art critic and curator, graduate in Letters at the Federal University of Ceará and master by the Fine Arts School at the Federal University os Minas Gerais (UFMG).
He was assistant curator and coordinator of research at MAC – Ceará (1998 – 2007). Member of the curatorial team of the “Programa Rumos Artes Visuais” (Visual Arts Directions Program) of Itaú Cultural (São Paulo, 2008/2009), curator of the “Projeto Acervo em Movimento” (Collection in Movement Project) in Natal’s Art Gallery in 2008, and the “Projeto Insituações” in Recife, MAMAM, 2011.
Coordinated the seminar ’’A arquitetura de um circuito em construção’’ (The architecture of a circuit in contruction) at Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste, in Fortaleza. His latest curatorial projects were: Rosana Ricalde – o percurso da palavra (CCBN, Fortaleza); Refrações (Pinacoteca da UFAL, Macéio); Entre modernidades (Museu Murillo La Greca, Recife), Sob o peso dos meus amores (Itaú Cultural, SP), Água Viva – Amanda Melo (CCBN, Fortaleza), Leonilson – Sob o peso dos meus amores, Fundação Iberê Camargo (Porto Alegre RS).
He was member of the award jury CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça 2011-12; between 2009 and 2011 he directed the Museum Murillo La Greca, in Recife. He currently develops PhD research at ECA USP.
