Fernando Oliva is a curator, researcher and professor (Plastic Arts College of FAAP and Santa Marcelina College). He integrates the Curatorial and Programming Comissions of the Videobrasil Contemporary Art International Festival. He edited the essays publication “Caderno Videobrasil “Turista/Motorista”. He is currently getting his master’s degree at the Postgraduate in History and Critic of Art Program from the Santa Marcelina College.
He was Director of Curatorship and Programming of the “Centro Cultural São Paulo” (Cultural Center São Paulo) and Project Manager of “Paço das Artes”, place that also occupied at the “Museu da Imagem e Som” (Image and Sound Museum). He acted as an art critic and editor in cultural press, with passages and contributions for the “Folha de São Paulo” (Ilustrada), “Estado de S.Paulo” (Caderno 2), magazines Cult, Bravo, Lapiz (Spain) and Contemporary (UK). Writes regularly about about contemporary production and participates in seminars, debates and selection juries.
Among his curatorial projects, stand out: “O Desvio é o Alvo” (2011), “Grau Zero” (Paço das Artes, 2009), “Cover=Reencenação + Repetição” (Modern Art Museum – São Paulo, 2008); “I/Legítimo – Dentro e Fora do Circuito” (Image and Sound Museum, 2008), “Comunismoda Forma -Som+Imagem+Tempo: A Estratégia do Vídeo Musical” (“Galeria Vermelho” gallery, 2007); “À Chinesa/À la Chinoise + The Site Specific” (Microwave New Media Arts Festival, Hong Kong, 2007).
