(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) In order to celebrate the opening of the group show “Grid”, Jacaranda, located in Villa Aymoré, promotes a get-together between its participating artists and curator (and twice PIPA Prize Nominating Committee member) Felipe Scovino this Saturday. The exhibition displays works by 14 artists – five of them PIPA Prize nominees, Ana Holck, André Komatsu, José Bechara, Lucia Koch and Raul Mourão –, all based in the concept of the grid.
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) A technique often overlooked when juxtaposed with more up-to-date art practices, painting is the focus of “Sorria!”, group show that opens this Saturday at Jacaranda, in Villa Aymoré. Featuring works by 11 young carioca painters, including PIPA Prize nominees Gustavo Speridião and Daniel Lannes, the exhibition displays a panorama of the possibilities of painting today. Further on, also take place during the opening a documentary screening, an open talk, a book release and the launching of Jacaranda magazine #4.
