Two PIPA nominees, Carla Zaccagnini and João Loureiro, present solo exhibitions at Vermelho Gallery
Pelas Bordas [By the edges], by Carla Zaccagnini, at rooms 1 and 2
Carla Zaccagnini is known for an artistic production that moves through installation, video, text, drawing and performance. In her solo exhibition, the artist reinterprets “by the edges”, that is, with a view from the periphery, systems and rules that govern our observation, understanding and representation of the globe.
For this, Zaccagnini, who was born in Buenos Aires in 1973, gathered recent works and others created from 2003, documents of her travels by world regions in the various residences and projects she conducted over the last decade.
“Escala de Cinzas” [Grayscale], by João Loureiro, at room 4
The work (2012-2013), “Escala de Cinzas” [Grayscale], by João Loureiro, consists of the production and marketing of ice cream in six shades of gray, served in black cones, during the period of the show at Galeria Vermelho.
The project was originally created for the project “In Situ: Public Works en la Ciudad de San Carlos de Bariloche”, Bariloche (Argentina) in 2012.
