Recent updates on artists’ pages

Last May 29th was the deadline for PIPA 2013 Participating Artists to send all the documents required to validate their nomination for the Prize.

It was required to send data to create a page here at the website and for the 2013 Prize’s catalogue.
They sent photos, texts, résumés and videos to present their work and biography to the public.

The most recently created pages for first time nominees are:

  • Celina Portella, whose work dialogues with architecture, film, performance and lately with sculpture, characterized especially by questions on the representation of the body and its relation to space.

  • Grupo EmpreZa have been working specifically in the field of performance art, and more recently with the creation of video, animation and photography derived from performance actions.

  • Tuttaméia is a duo who investigates issues optics, geometry and war. They work with video installations. graffiti and performances.

  • Virgílio Neto works mainly with drawings  of great visual appeal in which he approaches several different subjects.

Artists who made updates on their pages:

  • Ana Dantas works editing other artists’ videos and also developing her individual work. We recently made her page and just after she sent a new video which can be found on her updated page.

  • Cadu is one of the few artists who have been nominated for all PIPA editions. He sent new photos to update his page and also some new information about his recent exhibitions and awards.
