PIPA Online 2013 2nd round | Last days to vote

PIPA Online 2013 ends this Sunday, August 18th. Seven artists are running for the R$10,000 and R$5,000 prizes for the winner and runner up respectively.
PIPA Online is the only of the three categories of the Prize, in which all the nominees can participate. It is also the only one in which the audience chooses the winner by voting on the Internet.

PIPA’s summary of the week presents news and events from the art world that are happening in Brazil and abroad.
This is the closing weekend of 3 exhibitions in Sao Paulo: “Qualquer Lugar” by Rommulo Conceição, at Casa Triângulo, “Ainda que te vi”, by Ana Paula Oliveira, at Millan Gallery and “Rossini Perez, um passante e duas margens”, at Pinacoteca.
In Rio, is also the closing weekend of “Perfis”, by Luiz Hermano, at Luciana Caravello. See those and other exhibitions here.

Caio Reisewitz’s solo | Extended

The solo exbhibition of the photographer Caio Reisewitz (nominated to PIPA 2013) gathers 9 images of a new narrative and was extended until September 14th. The artist is known for his almost chimerical approach portraying the natural or urban landscape.

Jonathas de Andrade at Carré d’Art

Norman Foster is a knowledgeable lover of Art and with his wife a great collector. His selection for this show is mostly made up of works by the artists that he collects and with which he and his family live on a day-to-day basis. It will include works by historic artists like Alberto Giacometti or Alexandre Calder up until some contemporary artists, such as Jonathas de Andrade.

New interview | Shima

On this interview, the artist talks about how he first started working with performances through photography and answers a question by the critic and curator Guilherme Bueno about the meaning of doing art these days. “I think there is a meaning if there is a meeting, an exchange…”
