This Saturday, January 25, when the city of São Paulo celebrates it’s 460º anniversary, the Paço das Artes promotes the opening of the exhibitions “Duplo Olhar – Coleção Sérgio Carvalho” and “Instabilidade Estável”, at 4pm. The shows will be on display until April 6, with free entrance. In the occasion, the artist Vanessa De Michelis will present a performance, at 5pm. Also, a show by André Vasconcellos will happen at 6pm.
“Duplo Olhar” gathers over 110 contemporary works of art from the collector Sérgio Carvalho, with the curatorship of Denise Mattar.
The curatorship focuses on the trajectory of Brazilian art towards the international circuit. Among the participating artists are Nelson Leirner, Regina Silveira, Rochelle Costi, Lucia Koch, Luiza Baldan, Delson Uchoa, Ana Elisa Egreja, Jonathas de Andrade, Marcos Chaves, Mauro Restiffe, Iran do Espírito Santo, Rubens Mano, Sandra Cinto, Nazareno and Berna Reale.
In the end of March, a book with all the works presented in the exhibition and texts by the curator and the collector will be released.
Other PIPA artists in the show: Camila Soato, Eduardo Frota, Elder Rocha, Fábio Baroli, Gisele Camargo, José Rufino, Luciana Paiva, Marcelo Moscheta, Maria Laet, Paulo Meira, Rafael Carneiro, Rodrigo Braga, Sofia Borges and Tony Camargo.
The show “Instabilidade Estável” is curated by Juliana Gontijo and gathers works by artists Alexandre Rato, André Griffo, Andrei Müller, Daniel Murgel, Dirceu Maués, Milton Marques and Vanessa De Michelis.
