About the exhibition:
For the second time in Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo, Sara Ramo has been invited to set up “Punto ciego”, an installation of specific placement in which she will conduct a process of investigation and experimentaton about a clear conceptual base, defined as a starting point.
For the setting of “Punto ciego”, Sara will use old furniture found in the building which used to be the former prison Miguelete, a part of EAC that has not been refurbished yet, and will center her proposal in questioning the usual dynamics between the abandoned building’s ruins and the EAC museum area. We will feel that something has happened without our participation, that there is life on the other side, but also feel that everything is out of our control. The installation intends on being, literally, a bridge between the actual exposition area and the panopticon, where the traces of some unexpected experience will approach us, and not the silence of ruins without inhabitants.
About the artist:
Sara was born in Madrid 1975 and currently lives and works in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She has been nominated for PIPA three times in a row, in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
