“Um Olhar sobre a Coleção” [“A look at the collection”]

A special selection of  Visual Arts collection of  Fundação Clóvis Salgado (FCS) is on view at  Galeria Hideo Kobayashi, of Instituto Cultural Usiminas, at Ipatinga – a city located in eastern Minas Gerais state, Brazil.

From the 227 pieces of the collection, about 60 can be viewed in the the exhibition. Between paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs and installations, the exhibition presents modernist and contemporary works, highlighting the possible relationships between languages and dialogue between different generations.

Among the artists who have their works selected are André Komatsu, Jonathas de Andrade, Marcone Moreira and Paulo Nenflídio, all nominated one or more times to PIPA.

Arlinda Corrêa Lima, Roberto Burle Marx, Marina Nazareth, Laura Belém and others are also exhibiting their works.

The exhibition is curated by Fabíola Moulin, director FCS, who, noticing the historical meaning of the pieces, decided to show a selection with representative works of all generations present in the collection, like a timeline. The process reveals many moments of art produced in Minas Gerais and Brazil and the research of different artists from the 70s to the present day.
