Brand new artworks by Gonçalo Ivo in solo show

(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

Opening soon is Gonçalo Ivo‘s solo exhibition, with nine brand new canvases and watercolours, at Galeria Laura Marsiaj.

Gonçalo Ivo became known after participating, in 1984, of the great exhibition organised by Marcus Lontra at Parue Lage, “Onde está você geração 80?” [“Where are you 80s generation?”]. This show also revealed some great contemporary painting names like Luiz Zerbini and Beatriz Milhazes, among others.

A part of this generation, Gonçalo deepened and widened his research in the painting field, continuously questioning experimentations in a rustic way enhanced by technology, seeking a reflection on the relationships that involve images, medias, technique, styles, materials, gestures, shapes, colours, figures, etc.

Living in Paris for 14 years, Gonçalo never stopped displaying his works in Brazil inspite of his busy international schedule. At the gallery, four large scale canvases will be displayed and five watercolours at the ANEXO, all brand new.
