Last days | “Escuta”, solo exhibition by Paulo Nenflídio

(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

The gallery A Gentil Carioca holds the solo show “Escuta” (Listen), by artist Paulo Nenflídio.

In his fourth solo exhibition at A Gentil Carioca, artist Paulo Nenflídio displays sound artworks, recently made and inspired by natural phenomena and marine creatures. Each artwork has its own internal code in micro-controlled circuits where randomness is part of the composition.

“Ensaio da chuva” (Rain rehearsal), for example, has a code in which sound was sculpted in microsecond fractions. The piece is a laboratory where water, in various beakers, determines the time dynamics and rain amplitude.

Sobre o artista:
Paulo Nenflídio lives and works in São Paulo and has been nominated for PIPa twice. He has graduated in Plastic Arts at ECA-USP and in electronics at ETE Lauro Gomes. His work consists of sculptures, objects and sound or kinetic pieces.
