PIPA 2014 Artists | See artists page updates and first-time nominees

With the list of participating artists complete, we are now creating new pages for first time nominees and updating the pages of artists who have previously participated in other editions of the Prize.

This week we created pages for the following artists:

Alexandre Brandão

Alexandre Brandão was born in Belo Horizonte, 1979, but he currently lives and works in São Paulo, SP. He was a participating artist in PIESP – Independent Program of Escola São Paulo for Artists and Curators.

Ana Mazzei

Ana Mazzei graduated in Plastic Arts through Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP), in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, and has a masters degree in Visual Poetics through Unicamp, São Paulo, SP, Brazil.

Virginia de Medeiros

The work of Virginia de Medeiros centers on documentary strategies, as a means to transgress mainstream accounts and question the boundaries between reality and fiction. The artist deals with three themes within the field of art and documentary: dislocation, participation, and fabulation.

Apart from these pages, we updated the following artists’ pages:

Alexandre Mazza

Alexandre, who lives and works in Rio, sent in 10 images of recently done works and his CV was updated.

Rodrigo Braga

Two new images were added to Rodrigo‘s page, and the subtitles were updated. This is the artist’s second nominee for PIPA, the first being in 2011.
