In the year of its 10th edition, SP-Arte, the main art fair in the Brazilian circuit and among the five largest art fairs in the world, holds the first edition of SP-Arte Brasília, that will gather 33 national galleries from 5th to 8th June at Iguatemi Brasília, Lago Norte.

The fair established Brazil’s presence in the international art circuit. In is last edition in April, at the Biennial Pavillion in São Paulo, SP Arte broke records with 136 participating galleries, being 78 national and 58 foreign. The art fair in Brasília is the second event linked to the original one.

Apart from being the country’s political capital, Brasília is also a great triumph for 20th century culture. The city occupies a special place in the history of Brazilian art. “Carrying out the International Art Fair of Brasília, gathering dozens of galleries from multiple states and displaying hundreds of artists, Brazilian and foreign, in the heart of the nation is, for everyone, a recovery of a time of great euphoria and a moment of celebration” says Fernanda Feitosa, SP Arte conceiver and director.
