(Lisbon, Portugal)
On view since the 20th June is the group exhibition “Artists Engaged? Maybe”, part of the Summer edition of the Próximo Futuro programme, which dedicates particularly but now exclusively to investigations and creations in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Artists Engaged? Maybe” brings together 21 European, African and South American artists. Occupying the garden, this exhibition presents over twenty works, some of them brand new, in various medias: photography, sculpture, installation, painting, drawing, film and video.
These are all recent works interrelated with the contemporary world with all of its discontinuities and diverse configurations attributed by these artists. Exhibition presenting international visual artworks departing from the idea of artists’ engagement with the present. In a world of turbulence and programmatic suspension the artists respond with a multiplicity of possibilities.
