(Belo Horizonte, Brazil)
Gisela Motta & Leandro Lima are featured on the exhibition “Espectador em trânsito” [“Spectator on transit”]. After being presented in Teófilo Otoni, the exhibition now travels to Belo Horizonte, where it will be on view at Sesc Venda Nova through 3th January 2015, then going to Uberlândia. The exhibition is part of ArteSesc, a visual art project.
Through six video-installations by four contemporary artists-researchers, André Parente, Gisela Motta & Leandro Lima and Luciano Mariussi, the show invites the public to participate. The spectator then becomes a dynamic receptor of visual arts, rather than staying in a traditional position. The spectator becomes co-author, a fundamental part of each work.
In each one of the sceneries, it is possible for the public to interact differently with the artworks. The exhibition proposal is to make each visitor feel participating in the installations and not just a spectator. The exhibition spaces offer speakers, screenings, videos, projections, and audio to encourage people to participate and become components of the art.
