(Paris, France)

La maudite is holding until September the group show “Quero te encontrar” [“I want to find you”], with works selected Beatriz Toledo and Wagner Morales, artists and directors of the space, with help by the invited artist Renata Lucas and curator Estelle Nabeyrat. The exhibition include works by Vivian Caccuri and Bruno Kurru, in a partnership with Traplev.

quero te encontrar

Marking a new step in the life of Maudite – the installation in a new space at Jouye-Rouve street – the association launched an announcement to artists. The goal of this recurse is leaving common places and discovering independent artists to help the association in appropriating the new place . The works were selected by Beatriz Toledo and Wagner Morales, artists and directors of the space, with help by the invited artist Renata Lucas and curator Estelle Nabeyrat.

Without being limited by a theme, except the connection with Brazil, the works present thematic axis in common. The works selection resulted, this way, in a group exhibition constructed around the notion of expanded communication, unfolded in many different ways: the total permeability of the social tissue by information to the globalized society fragmentation, passing through the evolution of the media function and the human body in the apprehension of the world.

Creating an interaction between body and work, Bruno Kurru and Traplev incite a direct contact with the viewer with posters circulation, a communication media less used in the digital society. The engagement of the body on artistic practices is also part of Vivian Caccuri’s approach. A paradoxical communication is stablished in the series “Pagode”, in which she presents found and transformed objects during a “silent walk” – a city crossing with duration of eight hours in a group that each one of the participants is compromised to not pronounce a single word.
