Meet PIPA 2016 finalists, who will participate in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro from 3rd September until 13th November, and will be competing in two categories: PIPA and PIPA Popular Vote Exhibition. The announcement is made by the curator of PIPA Insitute, Luiz Camillo Osorio in a video with the participation of the four finalists.
This week, we released three interviews with Pipa 2016 nominated artists Arissana Pataxó, Leandra Espirito Santo and Pedro França. Pataxó talks about the importance of her work in representing the indigenous image outside the village. Leandra explains how day by day reality mobilizes the compositions of her works. Contemporary art space “Jacaranda” debuts with group exhibition and the release of the second edition of the magazine
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) To mark the opening of the space, the members of the Arte Clube Jacarandá invited the art critic and curator Luisa Duarte to organize an exhibition that brings together videos, paintings, objects, sculptures by Afonso Tostes, Cadu, Chiara Banfi, Daisy Xavier, José Bechara, Mariana Manhães, Paulo Vivaqua, Raul Mourão and others.
