(São Paulo, SP)
In this exhibition the artist presents about 20 recent works including paintings on flat glass and metal oxidation on canvas and truck´s used canvas. These two sets of works made in different materials and distributed throughout the two rooms of the gallery, seek to establish poetic convergences between them.
The use of glasses in Bechara’s work is recent. Starting his plastic investigations with this material in 2010, it is since 2013 when Bechara presents new experimentations incorporating other elements and new procedures. It is expected that the whole of the work reveals, among other things, the artist’s relationship with space, ranging from a virtual to a real one, to the extent that it implies the reorganization of the architectural space. It is important to note that it is important for the artist to situate his work between these genders. Therefore, what you see is sometimes a pictorial experience, some other times a sculptural experience.
On the other hand, the paintings made of metal emulsion oxidation on truck´s used canvas are inserted throughout this two-decade research. However, with the introduction of a new palette, these works not only externalize the result of this long research, but also bring new relationships that open new and risky possibilities for the coming works.
