Interview with Pipa 2016 Nominated Artists | Meet Adriana Vignoli, Ingrid Bittar and Marcone Moreira

In every edition of the Prize, the participating artists are invited to record exclusive video interviews, an opportunity for artists to voice their ideas, talk about their creative processes and careers. The video interviews are produced by Matrioska Filmes. This week, we released interviews with Adriana Vignoli, Ingrid Bittar and Marcone Moreira.

Adriana Vignoli

The artist have a degree in Architecture and talks about her interest in space, displacement, the urban subject, landscape. The artist says that there is a displacement process in each one of her works:”The displacement of my body when I walk through these cityscapes and these natural landspcapes. The displacement of objects when I collect objects from these landscapes and bring them to a new space.”

Ingrid Bittar

In an exclusive interview for PIPA Prize, Ingrid Bittar recalls the beginning of her career and the evolution of her collages, made from purchased books in second-hand bookshops and some magazines. After a year producing collages, Bittar began to identify patterns and themes and tells how this influenced her work process. She also talks about her new technique: embroidery.

Marcone Moreira

Marcone Moreira was born in the state of Maranhão and speaks about the influence of his birthplace in his work. He says that his work “Visualidade Ambulante” was remarkable and made him rethink his work process by observing and living with street vendors.
