The guerrero-projects gallery announces the opening of its space with a group show on Friday, October 14th. The exhibition will receive the artists Franco Arocha, Yui Kugimiya, Miguel Angel Madrigal, Mauro Piva, Carolina Ponte, Pedro Varela, Richard Stipl and Beatriz Zamora.
Houston’s guerrero-projects, founded by Galeria Enrique Guerrero from Mexico City, opens its doors as a part of its vision and efforts in promoting the diversity among emerging contemporary artists in Latin America and abroad. Since 1997 director Enrique Guerrero has paved one of the most influential trajectories in Mexico as a gallerist by boosting the careers of now internationally renowned artists. He has brought works to such places as Frieze London, Miami Art Basel, NYC’s Armory Show, Zona MACO, FIAC, ARCOmadrid and Art Beijing to name a few. Enrique Guerrero has also served on the selection committee at Zona MACO, ArtBo, SUMMA and Art Chicago.
With this experience, guerrero-projects arrives in Houston with a clear vision, where the traditional models of gallerists-run-spaces are adapted to focus on promoting proposals rooted in innovation.
