The public has chosen: today, we announce the winner of PIPA Popular Vote Exhibition 2016. In this category of the Prize, the result depends entirely on the visitors of the PIPA Prize Exhibition, on view at MAM-Rio: each visitor can place a vote for one of the four PIPA Prize 2016 finalists in a ballot in the Living Area located in the exhibition space. The artist with the most votes will receive a R$24,000 award.

Although the popular voting came to an end, PIPA Prize Exhibition 2016 remains on display until November 13th. More importantly, the four finalists are still on the run for the main PIPA Prize, a R$130,000 award from which part is used to fund the winner’s participation in a three-month residency programme at Residency Unlimited, New York. The grand winner of PIPA Prize 2016 is selected by the Award Jury and will be announced exclusively on our website next Wednesday, November 9th.
