(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
In the hopes of expanding the art calendar of the city, the international fair ArtRio presents, this Thursday, December 8th, the first edition of ArtRio Carioca. Way smaller than its official counterpart, responsible for attracting over 49,000 visitors to Píer Mauá in its last edition, the event happens at Village Mall and features 22 exhibitors, all of them based in Rio de Janeiro.
Along with the fair, ArtRio Carioca has also been presenting a series of talks between art critics, artists and collectors open to the public. The third and last talk, titled “Collecting Art”, happens tomorrow, December 6th, at 11 a.m., and invites artist Waltercio Caldas and collector Álvaro Piquet. Previous panels featured artists such as Carlos Vergara, Luiz Zerbini and Raul Mourão, PIPA Prize 2011 and 2016 nominee.
The talk is free and open to the public. To attend it, please register in advance at the email contato@artrio.art.br.
