Milan’s international fair of modern and contemporary art, MIART, starts its 22th edition today, March 30th, occupying the pavilions of Fieramilanocity for the next four days. This year, only two Brazilian galleries participate in the event: BFA – Boatos Fine Arts, from São Paulo, and A Gentil Carioca, from Rio de Janeiro.
Part of the Generations section, inaugurated this year, A Gentil Carioca will be exhibiting works by Pedro Cabrita Reis and the former PIPA Prize nominee Rodrigo Torres. The idea of the new sector, which was curated by Nicola Lees and Douglas Fogle in this edition, is to simply compare artists from different generations.
BFA – Boatos Fine Arts too won’t be participating in the main galleries section (titled “Established”), but in the “Emergent” space. Created in 2014, the gallery represents only seven artists, amongst them Marcelo Cipis and Pedro Caetano, already nominated to PIPA Prize.
