Colombia’s largest art show, ARTBO, the International Art Fair of Bogotá, begins its 13th edition this Thursday, October 26th. Building on the success of previous editions, ARTBO will showcase the best in modern and contemporary art to a growing international and local audience of collectors and enthusiasts. The four-day fair will take place in the Gran Salón of Corferias and provide the public with one of Latin America’s most important cultural showcases in the visual arts.
This year, ARTBO will present its most ambitious and innovative edition to date with new additions such as 21 m2, a new category within the Main Section, where galleries with up to six-years experience participate for the first time in ARTBO. This will allow for young and cutting-edge proposals to have a strong presence in ARTBO.
Seven Brazilian galleries will participate in the Main Section of the fair, as the result of a careful selection process led by ARTBO’s committee. Among the seven galleries, namely Blau Projects and Vermelho both located in São Paulo, is Rio de Janeiro’s Athena Contemporânea, which will present work by PIPA 2015 Nominee Frederico Filippi and PIPA 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016 nominee, Yuri Firmeza.
