(New York, USA)
Brazilian curator Luciana Solano and Brazilian artist Dalton Paula participate in an open talk at Residency Unlimited (RU) this Tuesday, March 20th, at 1 pm. The conversation is part of the Meet Over Lunch series, a monthly invitation to local and visiting curators to present their practice and projects over lunch to the RU residents and public.
The encounter shall revolve around Paula’s ongoing participation in the New Museum Triennial, “Songs for Sabotage”, on view at the New Museum until the end of May, as well as topics of race, history of slavery, and rituals attached to afro-Brazilians, very present in the artist’s work. Nominated for PIPA Prize for the second time this year, Paula is currently in New York as an artist-in-residence at AnnexB, the residency program in the Big Apple to offer residencies exclusively for Brazilian artists.
PIPA Prize partner Residency Unlimited (RU) is a New York-based company which offers residencies for artists from all over the world. Every year since 2013, PIPA Prize winners are granted a three-month participation in their program as part of their award donation.
