Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca, still from "Set to go", 2016

Bárbara Wagner participates in Open Talk at Residency Unlimited

(New York, USA)

Last month, Bárbara Wagner embarked on a plane to New York. She was about to begin her three-month stay in Residency Unlimited, an artistic residency programme, as part of her PIPA Prize 2017 award. This Friday, June 15th, at 1pm, it’s time for her to discuss her experience with the Brazilian curator Luciana Solano at RU, in yet another edition of the institution’s “Meet Over Lunch” series.

There, the artist and Solano plan on examining the strategies of collaboration Wagner employs with her subjects, which lead to an image and language construction intended to be accessible to everyone. They will also cover Wagner’s background in photojournalism, and how this has affected her artistic practice in her photographs and videos. Finally, Wagner will be screening an exclusive preview into her new film project, currently on development in Canada.
