The mounting of an exhibition involves a series of steps: chosing the pieces, setting the lights, organizing the exhibition space and other details that, in the end, make a huge difference. Every year, PIPA Prize produces a video registering the setting up of the Finalists’ Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (MAM-Rio).
In this edition of the Prize, the finalists are Arjan Martins, avaf, Romy Pocztaruk and Vivian Caccuri. The four of them run for the main category of PIPA Prize, a R$130,000 award that includes a three-month artistic residency at Residency Unlimited, New York. In the video below, produced by Do Rio Filmes exclusively for PIPA Prize, they explain the works they have decided to showcase in the exhibition, as well as their artistic trajectories so far. The finalists also run for PIPA Prize Popular Vote Exhibition, category that grants R$24,000 to the artist who’s most voted by the visitors of the exhibition. The voting goes on until November 7th, although the exhibition only finishes on October 28th.
