(Mexico City, Mexico)
Brazilian artist Pedro Varela will participate in the “Lineas en el Espacio” collective from January 25thto April 19th2019 at the Museo de la Cancillería in Mexico City, Mexico. The exhibition presents artists that explore the many possibilities of the drawing, ranging from the most traditional techniques, to the newest experimentations of formats and strategies.
Originating from an initiative of the Mexican artist duo Quirarte + Ornelas, the collective features work from young Mexican, Brazilian and Argentinian artists such as Amadeo Azar (AR), Carolina Ponte (BR), Daniela Libertad (MX), Jose Luis Landet (AR), Mauro Giaconi (AR), Mauro Piva (BR), Quirarte y Ornelas (MX) and Verónica Gerber (MX).
The works chosen show the impressive vigor that has taken over the Latin American visual art scene. They celebrate the diversity of the techniques of the contemporary drawing, as well as the exploration of the non-conventional relations that the image, space and spectator can present.
