(Madrid, Spain)
From February 27th to March 3rd, the International Contemporary Art Fair once again occupies the city of Madrid for its 38th edition. ARCOMadrid is one of the most representative international platforms and meeting point for the distribution, promotion and dissemination of contemporary art. The fair will bring together 205 galleries from 31 countries, and this year it particularly highlights Latin American representation. The innovative nature of ARCOMadrid makes it the best place to discover new up and coming talent and content.
During the five days in which the fair takes place, the capital city of Spain becomes the epicentre of current creation and cultural exchange. Only from Brazil, there are seven participating galleries, and in total, 20 PIPA artists. These are: Cinthia Marcelle (2010 PIPA Prize finalist), Barbara Wagner (2017 PIPA Prize winner), Erika Verzutti, Leda Catunda (2018 Nominating Committee Member), Sara Ramo, Eduardo Berliner (2011 PIPA Prize finalist), Ivan Grilo, Mariana Palma, Nino Cais, Sandra Cinto and Vânia Mignone, Túlio Pinto, Cadu (2013 PIPA Prize winner), Lenora de Barros (2012 Nominating Committee Member), Marina Weffort, Maria Laet and José Bechara.
Brazilian galleries have already made their stance in previous editions of the fair. In 2018, Cavalo won the prize for the best stand in the Opening sector for young galleries. The Carioca Gallery was chosen from 19 international venues in the sector.
