Four PIPA artists represent Brazil in Art Dubai

Art Dubai 2019 will bring together +90 galleries from over 40 different countries, divided across four gallery sections, Contemporary, Modern, Residents as well as Bawwaba, inaugurated this edition. Rodolpho Parigi, Laura Lima, Luiz Roque and Marcelo Moscheta (2010 Popular Vote Exhibition Winner) are the PIPA nominated artists that will be showing their works at the fair. 

Additionally, together with 12 other artists represented by leading galleries in Latin America, Rodolpho Parigi, Luiz Roque and Laura Lima will take part in Residents, Art Dubai´s annual residency program. They will spend 4-8 weeks immersed in the life and culture of the Emirates, with the objective of producing new artworks that will later be exhibited at the fair. 

Also representing the country, renowned artist collective OPAVIVARÁ! has been commissioned to create an interactive, site-specific work at the heart of the fair on Fort Island. OPAVIVARÁ!’s installation, entitled ‘SOLAROCA’, will consist of a beach-like environment under the shade of an oca (a Brazilian indigenous house) and combine a typical Brazilian beach-setting with traditional Middle Eastern elements.

The annual fair plays a key role in the Emirate´s journey towards becoming a leading and global destination for arts. With collaborative ventures, a broad programme will be showcased with diverse creative and cultural event.
