‘Figures de l’animal’ reflects the relationship between men and animals

(Meymac, France)

“From the insect to the mammal, encompassing fish and birds, from tiny to gigantic, from familiar to exotic”, Figures de L’animal reunites about 50 international artists, including Luiz Roque, to represent the relationship between men and animals. Jean-Paul Blanchet and Caroline Bissière are the curators.

Using different mediums and techniques such as painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, photography, video, but also moulding or taxidermy, they reflect their own individuality through these numeral animals. Also, they encompass some contemporary subjects regarding animals, such as animal suffering, the use of furs, with the discoveries revealing porosities between the species with regard to skill, emotion, intelligence or language.

The exhibition is presented as part of the festival “Printemps de Haute-Corrèze”, dedicated this year to wildlife.
