The collective exhibition “con(vivências)” proposes to interrogate and show various modes of transmission of creation, forms of participative art and alternativa education. Since the 25th of May, Jonathas de Andrade, Ricardo Basbaum, Cristina Ribas & Lucas Sargantelli, OPAVIVARÁ!, Lygia Clark, Amilcar Packer, and Laura Taves have been representing Brazil in the exhibition at the Le 19 Art Contemporain.
The exhibition mixes historical documentation with contemporary works to live and transform, be it “Would you like to participate in an artistic experience” by Ricardo Basbaum or the hammocks present in OPAVIVARÁ’s work. Some pieces will also offer a testimony of long-term artistic experiences. Starting from a subjective collection of sensory situations (con)vivências proposes to bring back to the foreground the initial experience of the work, encounter and of coexistence.
“Vivências” translates to lived experience and is a term borrowed from the artists Lygia Clark and Hélio Oiticica during the late 1960s. They retrace the course of their practice, between sculptures and interactive installations, until the creation of collective relations and inner psychological states.
