(Buenos Aires, Argentina)
With the purpose of developing performance, painting, drawing, records of specific site actions, interventions, photography, sculpture, ceramics and those means appropriate to the field of visual arts, Ambos Mundos selected international six artists to participate in Residence Epecuen. From those, Isabela Couto was chosen after analysis of their selection committee.
The project is aimed at participants going through field research, personal poetry and the interrelation with the territory through multidisciplinary artistic processes, finding in group coexistence the possibility of generating exchange through debates and the stimulation of critical thinking. The program proposes field work in the different ruins, interventions in space and workshop work for eight days – the research phase – and then, for six days, it focuses on the materialization of the field study with a view to the exhibition instance. This process will be carried out in the workshops and facilities of the Ambos Mundos gallery, in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, and will have the curatorial follow-up of the platform team.
