Discover the digital art event “not cancelled Brazil”

“Not cancelled Brazil” is a month-long digital art event with a program of virtual art activities and an online exhibition by the participating galleries. Since June 10th, the site undergoes weekly changes, varying artists and galleries, being completed at the end of its four weeks duration, on July 8. In addition to the works of selected artists from each gallery, the event also features daily live content, such as broadcasts, lectures, and guided tours.

The project is developed by the Treat agency, based in Vienna, and has editions already held in Berlin, Paris, Warsaw, Chicago, Dubai among other places. The first edition opened in April 2020 in the wake of the global pandemic COVID-19. In the Brazilian edition, organized by Galeria Karla Osorio (Brasília), 57 Brazilian galleries participate in the event with works by 106 artists, including Cabelo (10 to 17 June) and Aleta Valente (24 June to 01 September). In addition to them, several other artists participate, such as the winner of PIPA Prize 2019 Guerreiro do Divino Amor, Cadu, Ivan Grilo, Thiago Rocha Pitta, Lenora de Barros, Paul Setúbal and Fabrício Lopez, who used the video produced by Do Rio Filmes exclusively for the PIPA Prize 2017 on his event page.

One of the activities will take place today, June 12, at 3 pm: a conversation with Laura Lima, founding artist of the gallery A Gentil Carioca, and with Cabelo (PIPA Prize 2019 finalist) about his work “Luz com Trevas” (exhibition, show, and album). The conversation has limited spaces, and registration can be done here. You can visit the Online Viewing Room solo by artist Cabelo for the first week of not canceled Brazil here.
