“Contracto Natural” features Yuri Firmeza and Jaime Lauriano

(Porto, Portugal)

“Contracto Natural” brings together artists who live in the North and South of Portugal in a reflection of global reach. This group of artists, including Yuri Firmeza and Jaime Lauriano, proposes, under different forms – performance, photography, sculpture and video, reflections on Extractivism. These are reflections that cross our world. The ecosystem that sustains us and our development model. Bruno Leitão is the curator of the group show that is opened until December 30th, 2020, at Maus Hábitos, in Porto, Portugal.

The artists in this exhibition (Andreia Santana, Diana Policarpo, Jaime Lauriano, Jérémy Pajeanc, Salomé Lamas and Yuri Firmeza) raise questions about extractive events and projects, more or less failed and the implications they pass on to the workers involved in them. Affirming art as a critical tool that brings together facts and poetics, the works present in this exhibition pose important questions from a social and political point of view.
