Yhuri Cruz and Ana Claudia Almeida are chosen for art residence promoted by Pro Helvetia South America

Four Brazilian artists, Ana Claudia Almeida, Igor Vidor, Wisrah Villefort, and Yhuri Cruz, will participate in a residency program in Switzerland in 2022 with support from Pro Helvetia South America. Selected through an annual open call, whose entries have been considered by experts from offices in South America and Zurich, according to Pro Helvetia, the four artists will participate in different programs in the European country next year. During the selective, special attention was paid to the coherence, and local relevance of each entry, as well as to the placement of the residency experience in a meaningful way within the artist’s overall professional trajectory.

In addition to the four selected Brazilian artists, another seven from different countries in South America were also chosen, as well as ten from Switzerland who will come to the South American continent for residency programs at partner institutions. Pro Helvetia South America is one of the six exchange offices of the Swiss Foundation for Culture located in the main regions of the world and promotes artistic and cultural exchange between Switzerland and South America.
