‘Bodies of Desire’ offers various levels of narratives of the body

(Brussels, Belgium)

MONTORO12 Gallery presents from November 18, 2021, to January 15, 2022, Bodies of Desire. The exhibition is linked to the gallery’s Rome Residency program of 2020/2021, which was curated by Tiago de Abreu Pinto.

The exhibition presents various levels of narratives of the Body: whether in shamanic territories of dreams or in the very real repressive forms of extremist and authoritarian governments, the body adapts and transforms itself, between pleasure and pain, tensions and vulnerabilities. The works of Ana Dias Batista, Carla Guagliardi, Ištvan Išt  Huzjan, João Loureiro, Paula Baeza Pailamilla, Sreshta Rit Premnath and Lucas Simões invite visitors to engage in a multidisciplinary dialogue, going through our rich history and revealing our most intimate aspects.

This exhibition will initiate the new season of MONTORO12 gallery in its new and enlarged space on avenue Van Volxem 316, which hosted the curatorial project Bubble’n’Squeak from February to October 2021.
