(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
Until Saturday, October 29, you can still visit the PIPA 2022 Awarded Artists and Recent Acquisitions: PIPA Institute Collection exhibitions, at Paço Imperial, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Throughout the exhibition period, due to an educational initiative in partnership with Paço Imperial, two guided visits with the educators of the PIPA exhibitions have been offered per week.
The Recent Acquisitions show, in the Terreirinho room, gathers works by contemporary Brazilian artists that are part of PIPA Prize’s history – Eduardo Berliner, Leticia Ramos, Romy Pocztaruk, Ilê Sartuzi, Denilson Baniwa and Isael Maxakali (the PIPA Institute collection can be visited on http://www.institutopipa.com/) –, while the exhibition in the Terreiro room is, as well, a celebration of the four artists Coletivo Coletores, Josi, UÝRA and Vitória Cribb being chosen as winners of this edition. The four share the Terreiro space with juxtaposed works, positioned in order to highlight the possible permeabilities and increasing their power as a whole.

On the closing day, a last guided visit will be offered at 1pm. Added to it, some copies of this 13th edition catalogue are available for the visitors. The PIPA Prize 2022 catalogue includes interviews with the Awarded Artists by the PIPA Institute curator, Luiz Camillo Osorio. The publication, which is bilingual, also gathers exclusive critical texts about this edition’s awardees, written by Giselle Beiguelman, Clarissa Diniz, Keila Sankofa and Raphael Fonseca. Beyond that, the catalogue counts with pictures of the works and information about the 61 participating artists, among which 48 were nominated for the first time; statistics graph related to the Prize and images of the new works acquired by the PIPA Institute.
